Do I need a subscription?
No. Everything the device does out of the box, from posters and teasers to showtimes and Now Showing, comes with it, no subscription. If optional paid extras arrive later, nothing you bought stops working.
What screens does it work with?
Any TV or monitor with an HDMI input. Most people hang an ordinary landscape screen on its side. During setup you tell the poster which way round it's mounted and it handles the rest.
Can one unit run two screens?
Yes. The poster has two HDMI outputs, so a single unit can display on two TVs at the same time. All you need is a second cable.
How does the screen switch off at night?
On a TV, the poster uses the TV's own HDMI control (you may know it as Anynet+, Simplink, Bravia Sync, EasyLink or Viera Link) to switch it off at sleep time and back on for the evening. Setup tests this with you and falls back gracefully if your TV doesn't respond.
What about monitors?
No remote needed: the poster uses the monitor's own standby. At sleep time it stops sending a picture, and the monitor drops into standby by itself. At wake time the picture comes back and the monitor wakes on its own. Leave the monitor's power button on; standby uses barely any power.
Where do the posters and teasers come from?
They're the real thing. Search any film in the app and its actual poster art arrives through TMDB, the database behind the apps you already use. Teasers play through YouTube's official player, exactly as the studios published them. Nothing is scraped or downloaded.
What is Now Showing?
Cast a film to your TV from Chromecast or Google TV, and the poster switches to it: artwork, a marquee, and the time remaining. When casting stops, your rotation resumes.
Does it need the internet?
Wi-Fi is needed for setup, discovery, teasers and updates. Posters already on the device keep showing through an outage; teaser slots simply skip until the connection returns.
When will it ship?
Coming soon: the delivery date is set when the campaign goes live, honestly and with room to breathe. Backers get progress updates at every stage, and units ship in announced waves.
How long is it supported?
Security updates are guaranteed for a minimum of three years from the date the last unit was sold, and feature updates are free. The device updates itself automatically.
What data does it collect?
By default, none beyond what's needed to run your device. Optional telemetry (crash counts and playback health, tied to a rotating anonymous ID) is off unless you switch it on. The full detail lives in our privacy policy.
